Climate Age

Kevin J. Coyle, J.D., Attorney, Education Advocate, Conservationist

About

The idea for Climate Age grew from the stark realization that, despite great urgency, young people in the U.S. are not getting a solid base of education on the causes and consequences of and solutions to climate change. Indeed, as we move into an age of intensifying climate challenges, we need ever stronger and more effective educational educational policies, legislation and much more public funding to prepare the next generation. Kevin Coyle, of Climate Age, works in collaboration with a number of leading climate education-concerned organizations including U.S. Green Building Council’s Center for Green Schools, the National Education Association, the American Federation of Teachers, the National Science Teaching Association, the Campaign for Climate and Environmental Literacy and the North American Association for Environmental Education.

As a conservationist, climate education and legislative advocate, Kevin has a Juris Doctor degree from Temple University, a degree in social work from LaSalle University and a certificate in conservation leadership from the Wharton School. He was Assistant Regional Director for the Northeast Region of the National Park Service, CEO of American Rivers, Inc, CEO of the National Environmental Education Foundation and Vice President for Education at the National Wildlife Federation. He helped former Vice President, Al Gore, launch his acclaimed Climate Reality training program and has received numerous awards in educational publishing and programs.

It is simply wrong to hand the next generation the problem of lasting climate change without giving them the knowledge and skills they will need to navigate an uncertain future.
